Hello everyone and welcome to gameweek 2! Waivers this week are once again due on Thursday at 10:30am PT / 1:30pm ET! Not a ton of close matchups this week at the end of it, but highlights from this gameweek include Chris debuting in League A with a 54-43 win over MatthewR, Luke putting up a solid 53 pointer to defeat Darryan's 36, and Coop takes home all 3 points with his 42-31 win against me. After this first week, Chris takes the top spot with his 54 PF! Luke and Kevin join him at 50+ PF! And I can just let you take a look since that table will change a lot over the next few weeks.

And onto the Game Changers for the week! Oh how I've missed these.

• Zach: Anton Stach - 13 pts - Certainly a… questionable one to concede for Sels, but Stach sure kicked that ball hard to put a nail in the Nottingham Forest coffin late. Add onto that a slew of defensive contributions, clean sheet points, and all 3 bonus and have yourself a day Stach.
• Chris: Mamadou Sangare - 14 pts - Maybe the Premier league is the farmers league all along? Sangare keeps his (supposed) incredible form for Lens going with a pair of assists, defcon points, and more as Brentford showed us that Tottenham is still who we thought they were and handily beat them 3-0.
• Coop: Joao Pedro - 11 pts - Just to twist the Joao Pedro vs Isak knife in a little deeper, the Chelsea FWD got off to a much hotter start than the Chelsea defensive unit as he picked up a goal and assist to eek out a 3-2 win against Fulham.
• Luke: Cole Palmer - 13 pts - Similarly, a goal and assist for Palmer as well as he happened to steal that extra bonus point from the man listed above.
• Kevin: Martin Odegaard - 11 pts - A huge week for the Arsenal captain as his ~~totally intentional~~worldie of a goal sealed the deal as the reigning champs strolled to a 3-0 win against Coventry.
• Jesse: Emersonn - 9 pts - A huge day for the newly promoted Ipswich team as Emersonn with 2 n's opened the scoring following quite the run from ~~Brighton~~~~Chelsea~~~~Strasbourg?~~Paraguay legend Julio Enciso. And also a great finish from Clarke(maybe?) in the 90-something minute to defeat Sunderland 2-1.

And with August already 50% over, Chris obviously leads the Manager of the Month race! I'm not even gonna bother putting the image here, see above^^

And next week will see some great matchups, headlined by an early 1st vs 2nd as Chris faces off against Luke! Elsewhere, Coop and Kevin face off to decide who will end the week as one of the few managers on 6 points, and Darryan and John look to bounce back from a rough first week as they go up against one another! And welcome to gameweek 2 of the League of Champions! Some close matchups this week, highlighted by Luke's narrow 53-51 victory over Morgs! Elsewhere, John picked up a close 35-34 win against Mack, Kim defeated Darryan by twice the margin at 38-36, and Scott put up a week high 64 points to Travis's 33! Full results are as follows:

10 - Anthony (-) - League C - Last 1: 43 (L) - A pretty solid week (despite the loss) for Anthony keeps him hanging onto the list. Notable returns from his team included the Gakpo screamer, Cherki's pair of assists, and another couple of clean sheets from Mosquera and Vuskovic. Question marks exist still, such as will Caicedo play ever again? Are Van de Ven's hamstrings intact? Can Isak hit the broad side of a barn? Much to think about.

9 - Luke (NEW) - League A - Last 1: 53 (W) - Somehow the Wissa + Gonzalo Garcia gambit worked out for Luke as his FWD pair combined for a respectable 10 points ahead of big weeks from defcon beast Ndiaye, "he's so back" Cole Palmer, and clean sheets for Wieffer and Mykolenko. Now, does Palmer continue to get goal contributions, or does he vanish for the next 6 months before scoring a brace of penalties? Either way points are points so well done this week.

8 - Katie (-3) - League C - Last 1: 30 (L) - A rough start for Katie as 17 points from the bench look on longingly as the only returns on her field were the double 6's from the Everton centerback pair + Evanilson's awkward 4 pointer from an assist. Still, there's a lot of game left to play and you can never count out a Bruno Fernandes + Morgan Gibbs-White team. Plus she's got Mateta who could score 3 goals per game. It's a strong could, though.

7 - Charlotte (NEW) - League C - Last 1: 50 (D) - Quite the start for Charlotte and Maddie as they both put up solid 50 pointers… against each other, to account for our first draw!!! Anyway, Charlotte's score came off the back of Tavernier and Guehi both scoring and finding their way to 10 points, new Leeds keeper James Trafford securing the clean sheet (etc.) for a 9 pointer, and Collins getting a participation medal for suiting up against Spurs and keeping a clean sheet in the process. Oh and Igor Jesus could have had probably 4 goals or something but who was counting.

6 - Kim (-2) - League B - Last 1: 38 (L) - 38 points just wasn't enough this week against the League B Cole Palmer team, but a decent performance as Oli McBurnie outscored buzzcut Haaland (as expected). Anyway, small returns from Gonzalo Garcia and Kelleher combined with Xhaka's huge 9 pointer to not make up the difference from the remaining blanks. Surely Haaland/Foden/Garner lock in from here on out though, right?

5 - Chris (NEW) - League A - Last 1: 54 (W) - A huge week from Chris debuts him halfway up this list as he very easily could've had 69 points this week. And probably should have? Despite his benching of Jack Hinshelwood, Sangare, Dewsbury-Hall, and Ben White combined for 36 points. Add into that the fact Brobbey, Le Fee, and Van Dijk did absolutely nothing this week and he's got a pretty solid squad (that I missed in the stack last week, probably).

4 - Gavin (+3) - League B - Last 1: 63 (W) - Just an insane week from Gavin as his midfield 5 had a floor of 6 points and scored a total of 48 points. Those 5 were: Sangare (14), Odegaard (11), Ndiaye (9), Cherki (8), Tzolis (6). And hey moving forward maybe Maresca will realize he should start Cherki instead of only giving him 27 minutes. And as strong as his midfield core is, Gavin only really saw a Tarky 6 pointer and Mateta hit the post this week. Anyway, crazy team over here.

3 - Aarushi (+3) - League C - Last 1: 55 (W) - Aarushi put up the top score in League C this week with much the same midfield as Gavin (3/5) with Odegaard, Ndiaye, and Sangare leading the charge. The key difference between their teams is one of them has David Raya, and the other has Kinsky. Anyway, Muharemovic marked his Premier League debut with a clean sheet as well, and Wissa impressed with an assist against Liverpool. It's too bad Aarushi will have to find a replacement for Watkins though :/

2 - Zach (-) - League A - Last 1: 47 (W) - The reigning champ continues his winning ways with a victory against the lowest score in League A. Still put up a solid score though, with a pair of 13s from Stach and Kayode being enough for a tie, he one upped it with the Lacroix assist + defcon points and a couple of 3 pointers from MIDs with clean sheets. And that's with a blank from Haaland and defcon beast James Hill.

1 - Andrew (-) - League B - Last 1: 53 (L) - This week, Andrew put up the 3rd highest score in League B, at 53. It's too bad he went up against the 1st highest score. Even still, his Chelsea trio of Joao Pedro, Rogers, and Lacroix combined for 25 points (rip Caicedo), Tavernier picked up 10 points by scoring Bournemouth's lone goal against Manchester City, and Bart kept a clean sheet. Hell yeah Bart.
