Hello everyone and welcome to gameweek 28! Waivers this week are due Thursday morning at 10:30am PST / 1:30pm EST! Some interesting results this week led by Mack defeating Alex 46-36! Elsewhere, I took a close win over Travis 43-36 and Morgs put up a huge 59 pointer to defeat Emma's 34! Full results are as follows:

  • Travis 35-43 Matthew
  • Emma 34-59 Morgs
  • ZachA 44-8 Divya
  • Chris 38-21 Andrew
  • John 64-27 Cara
  • Mack 46-36 Alex

League Table

Weekly Matchups

And taking a look over at the league table we see much the same, with John holding onto his 1 point lead over me, and my lead over Alex expanding to 6 points! (anyone else getting deja vu) Alex himself sits just 2 points ahead of ZachA, who stays 3 points ahead of Chris. Mack's win keeps her 4 points behind 5th place. Just 3 points below Mack sees Morgs leapfrog Emma following her head to head win.

Game Changers!

  • Matthew: Daniel Munoz - 9 pts - The goat returns from his 71', 1 defensive contribution performance against Burnley to pick up 14 defcon and a clean sheet against Wolves. Glad to have you back o7
  • Morgs: Dean Henderson - 16 pts - Her namesake went off this week with a penalty save, clean sheet, and a bushel of other saves to barely miss out on the highest scorer of the week position.
  • ZachA: Jan Paul van Hecke - 9 pts - A solid performance from underperforming Brighton not only defeating Brentford but keeping a clean sheet against them as well. Led by JPVH and his massive 10 defensive contributions of course.
  • Chris: Djordje Petrovic - 9 pts - The week of defenders and goalkeepers continues as the Bournemouth man kept a clean sheet against one of the strongest attacking teams in the league: West Ham.
  • John: Nico O'Reilly - 17 pts - Am I getting deja vu? Did I not just write this guy down for a 13 pointer a week ago? Geez man let Haaland score some goals.
  • Mack: Viktor Gyokeres - 13 pts - The Swede locked in this week against Spurs as he scored a whole 2 times and honestly just played a very solid all around game.

With just 1 week left in February, John takes the top spot at the only undefeated manager! He is ahead of Mack, myself, Alex, ZachA, and Travis who all are on 6 pts!

Manager of the Month

Looking over at the form table, ZachA sits on top of the table on PF along with me and Alex on 12/15 points earned!

Form Table

Knockout Stage

Power Rankings

On the bubble (in no order): Alex, Dylan, Morgs, ZachA Fell off: MatthewR

10 - Dylan (-) - League A - Last 5: Last 5: 48 (L), 40 (L), 52 (L), 41 (W), 32 (W) - Some Patrick Mahomes reverting to the mean going on here as Dylan won with 32 points this week after losing with 48, 40, and 52 as he hangs onto this list by a thread. This week Van Hecke and Richards were the only players above 3 points, which is rough when the players who should be scoring points regularly are Gabriel who is in a poor run of defensive form from Arsenal and Salah who is in a poor season of form.

9 - Matt (NEW) - League A - Last 5: 65 (W), 41 (W), 37 (L), 46 (L), 50 (L) - Objectively some pretty good scores across the past 5 but my god has Matt been unlucky in his matchups, losing 3 in a row with 96 combined points between the last two weeks. Still, he's got a solid team especially with O'Reilly turning into Man City's main goalscorer. And somehow the Villa + City double ups on defense are working out. Plus, Lewis Hall is back, Bowen is defending again, and sometimes his midfielders get more than 4 points.

8 - Chris (-2) - League B - Last 5: 52 (W), 39 (L), 36 (L), 42 (L), 38 (W) - Decent week from Chris as he put a stop to his losing streak with a 38 point victory off the back of the goat Harry Wilson assisting and hitting defcon, Petrovic earning himself 9 points from the clean sheet against West Ham, and a couple of other defcons sprinkled in from Rice and Scott. Although the scariest feature of Chris's team may be the fact that Caicedo hasn't hit defcon in back to back weeks for the 2nd time this season. Is he washed?? At least he's got Xhaka back to pick up the slack.

7 - Kevin (+1) - League A - Last 5: 27 (L), 47 (W), 67 (W), 45 (L), 63 (W) - Kevin did unto others this week what was done to himself last, with his 63 pointer defeating Matt's 50. Lots of points coming from all over the place, including a clean sheet from Bart, Konate, and Mitchell (who also had an assist), a goal from Joao Pedro (6 returns in a row for those who are counting), and a brace from Gyokeres. How many goals since you said you didn't want to admit your 1st rounder was a bust?

6 - Matthew (-1) - League A - Last 5: 38 (W), 34 (L), 40 (W), 70 (W), 38 (L) - I mean, it's not 70 points and I couldn't beat Darryan but I guess it isn't so bad, considering my defcon punt got moved to fullback due to an injury, my other longer term defcon pickup apparent just plays fullback now, Foden is a 1 point merchant, Rayan hit the post, and I once again have no starting FWDs. But yeah at least my two wingers Semenyo and Munoz hit defcon.

5 - Zach (+2) - League A - Last 5: 35 (W), 40 (W), 41 (W), 54 (W), 52 (W) - Don't be fooled by his score, 16 of those points were because Henderson saved a penalty and also 6 other shots during the game. He did also have a Maguire clean sheet (and no red card or own goal), Saka assist, and Sesko goal. Because why ever start the guy if he's gonna score everytime he's subbed in anyway.

4 - Mack (-1) - League B - Last 5: 45 (L), 41 (W), 30 (L), 52 (W), 46 (W) - A big win to end Alex's winstreak this week as she didn't even need the 14 points from Eze on her bench with Gyokeres' 2 goals, the Dalot clean sheet, and four 4/5 pointers coming from defensive contributions. Strand Larsen's obviously just waiting for when the rest of her team is slacking off to get back on track, surely.

3 - John (+1) - League B - Last 5: 43 (L), 43 (L), 61 (W), 46 (W), 64 (W) - Another huge week from the O'Reilly owner of League B as he now hasn't scored under 43 in the last 5 weeks, including 2 weeks at 60+. Le Fee was a solid punt this week for his 10 pointer, Konsa picked up an assist, Raul has been consistently pretty solid for a FWD, and as the resident League A Mateus Fernandes owner this guy is looking like the real deal. Really just a solid team all the way through and it's going to be an interesting battle for that 1st place in League B badge.

2 - Darryan (-) - League A - Last 5: 31 (W), 61 (W), 51 (W), 24 (L), 46 (W) - Maybe the key to success is owning Raul Jiminez? After all his first brace of the season spurred both League #1s to win this week. Behind him for Darryan was a trio of 6 pointers from a Haaland assist, Rodri defcon and 2 bonus, and the other Jimenez earning a clean sheet. Oh and somehow Ballard got an assist because he's destined to score 4 points.

1 - Matthew2 (-) - League B - Last 5: 44 (W), 49 (W), 45 (W), 39 (L), 43 (W) - Another pretty solid week from my League B team despite leaving a Bart 7 pointer and Ampadu 8 on the bench. It was a rare week where only 1 player from my MIDs or FWDs scored 4 points or more, with my backline totalling 24 points including 3 clean sheets, an assist, and a couple defcon points. Maybe one day I'll see bums such as Salah, Rogers, Evanilson, and Thiago earn me more than 3 points again.

Good luck all!
