And, one more announcement! gosfpl.com/season-4 has been updated to have live updates for matchup scores for both leagues! This means, if you want, you can solely use the poorly performing app/website for setting your lineup and making waivers, and use this site for all your score checking needs! This is a work in progress (and I hate working on UI stuff), so suggestions and patience welcome as I continue adding things! Also, we're back in mid-season form of these being written/sent out in the middle of the night so that's awesome.
Hello everyone and welcome to gameweek 3! Waivers this week are due on Friday at 3am PDT / 6am EDT as the games start on Saturday! This week saw just an absolutely heartbreaking (depending on your perspective) comeback win by Luke over me, 43-42, along with Darryan putting up a week high 57 pointer against Scott's 17, and Coop bouncing back with a 51-34 win over Zach. Full results are as follows:
- Matthew 42-43 Luke
- Matt 22-35 Dylan
- MatthewR 50-36 Jesse
- Scott 17-57 Darryan
- Kevin 45-33 Gavin
- Zach 34-51 Coop
League Table
Weekly Matchups
This week sees Darryan leap up the board to secure 1st by 20 PF, followed by the only other 2 undefeated teams in Luke and Dylan. Yet to put points on the board are Gavin, Matt, and Scott.
Now onto the game changers!
- Luke: Cody Gakpo - I was so close to putting van Dijk (Jesse's team) here for his elbow on Schar to take him out of the game on 8/10 defensive contributions, but I guess I'll go with Gakpo's 2 assists and 2 bonus for 10 points to win Luke the week by 1. And also back to back appearances on this list.
- Dylan: Dango Ouattara - A huge debut for the new (expensive) Brentford man with the only goal in their win against Aston Villa. Top that off with a clean sheet, 15 defensive contributions, and 3 bonus for a solid 13 point haul.
- MatthewR: Marcus Tavernier - Another game winner from a 2024/2025 Bournemouth player, this time still for Bournemouth, Tav scored against Wolves in their 1-0 win, securing the 3 bonus and 11 for MatthewR.
- Darryan: Jurrien Timber - In a week where Darryan's midfield and forwards scored a whopping 8 points, Timber managed to triple it with a 24 point haul against Leeds. 2 goals off corners, an assist to Saka, a clean sheet, and of course the 3 bonus points. Somehow, the triple Arsenal defense worked out extremely well.
- Kevin: Joao Pedro - This guy hates West Ham apparently, putting up 15 points off the back of a goal, 2 assists, and all 3 bonus points.
- Coop: Jordan Pickford - The vibes team steamrolled this week, led by none other than Jordan Pickford reading his water bottle to save Danny Welbeck's pen. That, plus the clean sheet and 4 saves, earned him the 3 bonus in their 2-0 win in their new stadium against Brighton and 15 points for Coop.
In terms of our first week of 3 in the August Manager of the Month race, the table matches the table above, so not much to say there. Darryan pulls away with a healthy PF lead!
Next week will see some great matchups, headlined by our two highest scorers of this week in Darryan and Coop! Elsewhere, interesting matchups include Dylan vs Kevin, Jesse vs Zach, and Gavin looks for his first win this season against me! Full matchups are as follows:
- Gavin vs Matthew
- Darryan vs Coop
- Jesse vs Zach
- Dylan vs Kevin
- Luke vs Scott
- Matt vs MatthewR
And finally, our first round of shoutouts goes to Darryan, Luke, and Dylan for overcoming adversity and winning back to back matches at the beginning of the season.

Welcome to gameweek 3 of The League(tm) group stage! This week saw a number of close matchups, headlined by Alex taking a high scoring 60-47 win over ZachA in league B. Elsewhere, Coop upsets (?) Luke 51-43, Jesse narrowly defeats Gavin 36-33, and Mack takes a dramatic 41-38 win against Cara.
- Matthew 42-17 Scott
- Luke 43-51 Coop
- MatthewR 50-34 Zach

As for the table, we have just 6 undefeated teams remaining! Led by Alex and MatthewR with 90+ PF, Chris, Jesse, Mack, and Andrew all remain in contention for an undefeated group stage.
And next week sees our first week of cross-league matchups! The headliner of the week being one of two undefeated matchups: MatthewR vs Andrew! The other being Jesse vs the current table leader, Alex. Other matchups to keep an eye on include me vs ZachA in what should be an interesting Mitoma derby, Luke vs Matthew2, Dylan vs Mack, and a battle between two teams with near identical PF in Zach vs Travis.
Full matchups are as follows:
- Matthew vs ZachA
- Luke vs Matthew2
- MatthewR vs Andrew
- Gavin vs John
- Darryan vs Emma
- Kevin vs Divya

Power Rankings
On the bubble (in no order): Andrew, Travis, Cara, Kevin, Dylan Fell off: Cara, Jesse
10 - Alex (NEW) - League B - Alex's 60 point showing (highest score from both leagues) this week forced my hand to sneak him in at #10. That said, the score was off the back of a rare Pickford pen save, 2 assists from Calafiori, and a Gravenberch goal, so while the score was solid, I want to see some more consistency before he moves higher.
9 - Chris (-) - League B - Another 40+ pointer from Chris cemented his spot in the top 10 this week, and that's with his 1st rounder picking up yet another 2 pointer and leaving 8 on the bench with Tarkowski.
8 - MatthewR (NEW) - League A - Back to back 40+ point weeks and some defcon monsters, plus leaving points on the bench. Some defensive contribution monsters on this team and has a lot of potential if Enzo and Tavernier can keep producing (and Watkins wakes up). Fortunately for him, Odegaard's injury isn't bad either.
7 - Mack (-1) - League B - The drop isn't even necessarily for her team doing worse, but other teams doing better. A second 40+ point for Mack (with Dango sitting quietly on the bench and Eze waiting for his Arsenal debut) puts her firmly in the top 10 in my eyes. Gyokeres's spot is also nailed for the time being, along with Barnes even if a new striker starts playing (shoutout Anthony Gordon).
6 - Zach (-4) - League A - Rough week for Zach as Saka goes down with a hamstring injury and Gvardiol remains out for who knows how long. Beto also appeared from the bench, while MLS finds himself behind the luscious locks of the Italian Arsenal left back. Still think this team has a lot of potential, but it will rely on some Rogers magic and Ekitike to keep form.
5 - ZachA (+3) - League B - For the other Zach however, things are looking up. Joao Pedro showed up against West Ham, somehow both of his Chelsea defenders contributed to goals, and Sarr picks up his first goal of the season. Until ZachA averages less than 47.5 points per week I think I'm obligated to put him here.
4 - Matthew (-1) - League A - Moving myself down a place due to the head to head loss against Luke. Still waiting on my FWDs to do something, though.
3 - Luke (+2) - League A - Moved up due to the head to head win against me. Gakpo, Ndiaye, and the Bournemouth defense carrying despite the short term injuries to Palmer and Georginio, but his FWD situation continues to look dire.
2 - Darryan (+2) - League A - A huge week from Darryan's team as his defenders put up 6/24/13/6. The rest of his team didn't do anything but 57 points is 57 points. On one hand, he has quite the weak midfield, on the other, midfielders are aplenty. And if his defenders and Haaland continue as they are, he'll be fine.
1 - Matthew2 (-) - League B - Definitely an off week for this team with so many attacking players blanking, but I do still think it's the best option to put here for the moment. Another off week and it is banished though.
Also, there is a sense of momentum with these rankings i.e. it will take some time for managers to rise and fall, just because I've looked at these teams a lot and have my own personal opinions and predictions of how players will perform in the future. I also tend to not give up on players super easily, especially if they've shown that they can come up with points consistently.
And that's about it for this week! Good luck out there!
